Method
- Press the tofu between paper towels to remove moisture.
- Whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Marinate tofu in the sauce for 10 minutes.
- Pan-fry over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side until crispy.
- Spread avocado or mayo on the bread.
- Assemble: lettuce, tomato, tofu slices, and the top slice of bread.
Notes
Tip: If you want extra crunch, add a few pickled onions. I once made this for my cousin Lisa, and she said it “tastes like summer in a sandwich.” I’ll take that as a win.
